The Vigilance Tax
Every designer who uses AI image tools pays a hidden cost: the vigilance tax. You generate an image. The colors look right — but are they exactly right? Is that blue #2A52BE or #3A62CE? Close enough, you think, and move on. Over 50 images, “close enough” compounds. By the end of a campaign, your brand’s blue has drifted across four different hex codes, your typography has shifted between three font weights, and your visual identity — the thing you spent thousands of dollars defining — has quietly dissolved.
Lovart’s **Brand Kit** eliminates the vigilance tax. Define your colors, typography, and visual style once. Every image you generate afterward — in any model, for any purpose — respects those rules. This guide walks you through the 5-minute setup.
Step 1: Define Your Color Palette (2 Minutes)
Open the Brand Kit from the ChatCanvas toolbar (palette icon, top right).
Primary colors: Enter your brand’s primary color hex codes. These will be the dominant colors in your generations. Example for a skincare brand:
Accent colors (optional): Secondary palette for highlights, CTAs, decorative elements:
Pro tip: Test your palette immediately. After saving, generate a quick image: *”Simple geometric composition using Brand Kit colors. Abstract shapes on a light background.”* If the colors feel right, your palette is working. If something feels off, adjust the hex codes — the real-time feedback loop is seconds, not hours.
Advanced: Color role assignment. Beyond hex codes, assign semantic roles to your colors:
This tells the Design Agent which color to use for which visual layer, producing more professionally composed outputs than flat palette application.
Step 2: Set Typography Preferences (1 Minute)
In the Typography tab of Brand Kit:
Font family: Select your brand’s primary font. The dropdown includes common web and system fonts — Inter, Playfair Display, Montserrat, Roboto, etc. If your brand uses a custom font not in the list, select the closest visual match and note the custom font’s name in the description field.
Font weights: Define the weight hierarchy:
Typography style: Choose from presets or describe your style in natural language: *”Clean, modern, generous letter-spacing. Sans-serif for headlines, serif for pull quotes. Avoid condensed or decorative treatments.”*
Pro tip: Typography settings primarily affect images with generated text (social media graphics, posters, presentation slides). For logo generation, the Design Agent uses your typography preferences as style guidance rather than exact font selection — logo fonts are rendered as visual elements, not selectable text.
Step 3: Upload Visual Style References (2 Minutes)
This is the step that most users skip — and it is the most impactful.
In the Visual Style tab, upload 3-5 reference images that represent your brand’s aesthetic. These can be:
The Design Agent analyzes these references and extracts a **style fingerprint** — the common visual properties across your references:
This fingerprint supplements your explicit palette and typography settings. The combination produces outputs that match not just your brand’s specifications but its aesthetic sensibility.
Pro tip: Upload diverse but coherent references. If all your references are product-on-white-background shots, the style fingerprint will bias toward that composition even when you want lifestyle imagery. Include at least one lifestyle reference, one detail/close-up reference, and one environmental reference.
Step 4: Test and Calibrate (Built Into Every Generation)
Your Brand Kit is now active. Every generation on the ChatCanvas will automatically apply your palette, typography, and style fingerprint.
Quick calibration test:
1. Generate: *”Instagram post template for a new product launch. Use Brand Kit.”*
2. Evaluate. Are the colors accurate? Is the typography right? Does the visual style match your brand?
3. If adjustments are needed, return to Brand Kit settings. Tweak the palette. Add or replace reference images. Regenerate. The feedback loop is immediate.
How to know your Brand Kit is working well:
Brand Kit + Team Collaboration
Share your Brand Kit with team members. In the Brand Kit settings, copy the share link and send it to collaborators. When they open it, their ChatCanvas inherits your brand rules. Every team member generates on-brand assets — no training, no style guide PDFs, no “hey can you check if these colors look right” Slack messages.
For agencies managing multiple client brands: create a separate Brand Kit for each client. Switch between them in the dropdown. One workspace, multiple brand identities, zero cross-contamination.

FAQ
Q: Can I have multiple Brand Kits for different product lines within the same brand?
A: Yes. Create a “Master Brand Kit” for shared elements (logo, primary palette) and product-line-specific kits with adjusted accent colors and reference images. Switch between them as needed.
Q: What if I want to temporarily bypass the Brand Kit for a specific generation?
A: Toggle “Brand Kit” off in the ChatCanvas toolbar (palette icon). The next generation will not apply brand constraints. Toggle it back on for subsequent generations.
Q: Does Brand Kit work with video generation?
A: Yes. Seedance 2.0, Veo 3, and Kling generations inherit your Brand Kit — colors, visual style, typography preferences. Video output maintains the same brand identity as your still images.
Q: Can I export my Brand Kit as a style guide document?
A: Not natively, but you can screenshot the Brand Kit settings panel (which shows hex codes, font choices, and reference images) and include it in external documentation.
